About the Women in a Global Economy Kit

Lorraine and Evelyn present copies of the kit toH.E. Mr Chuan Leekpai, Prime Minister of Thailand, and Khunying Supatra Masdit, Minister to the Prime Minister's Office.

The original, printed version of the Women in a Global Economy: challenge and opportunity in the current Asian economic crisis resource kit comprises 13 sections totalling 28 pages, including a foreword and references. The kit is enclosed in an attractive coloured folder.

We have made this electronic version available on the Web so that we can reach a wide audience. This version contains all the text and almost all of the graphics from the printed version. You can print it directly from your browser, or save it to disk then open and print it using the later versions of Microsoft Word or WordPerfect.

However, we have to say that the electronic version doesn't have the same visual impact as the printed version. If you need to get the importance of Women in a Global Economy across to journalists, community leaders or politicians, you can obtain printed copies from the UNIFEM East and South East Asia Regional Office, Bangkok.

This kit is a collaborative undertaking of the United Nations Development Fund for Women, UNIFEM, and the Canadian International Development Agency-Southeast Asia Gender Equity Program, CIDA-SEAGEP. It aims to encourage dialogue and action to better recognize the economic role of women, and therefore to more effectively include women as equal partners, decision makers and beneficiaries in shaping a better future for all in the global marketplace.

Please acknowledge the source of this material and the contribution of UNIFEM and CIDA-SEAGEP if you copy or quote all or part of the contents.
