Duty Statement
The National Coordinator Lao PDR is
responsible for providing technical inputs managing and
coordinating project activities for Lao PDR. The National
Coordinator will work under the overall supervision of Regional
Advisor/Programme Manager, for the UNIFEM Asia-Pacific and Arab
States Regional Programme on Empowering Women Migrant Workers in
Asia (based in Bangkok) and the UNIFEM E&SEARO Regional Programme
Director. S/he will also work as part of the team of other
Coordinators (based in the other sub-regions) guided by the
Regional Advisor/Programme Manager on the technical aspects of
work.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Coordinate,
monitor and provide overall technical inputs to the partners for
implementation of project activities in Lao PDR to ensure the
gender and rights-based approach of the project.
·
Manage and
implement project activities to ensure synergy and results;
·
Promote the
project’s conceptual framework among agencies and organizations
beyond the project partners for expanded support
·
Manage
programme resources and administration to ensure accountability;
·
Liaise with
partner organizations(national/international) on programme
implementation;
·
Track,
monitor and evaluate Programme results in Lao PDR and ensure
documentation, including timely financial and narrative reporting
to UNIFEM Regional office (monthly updates and six monthly
reporting).

Recruit and
monitor project consultants
·
Maintain
regular communication and consultation with the Regional Advisor/
Programme Manager, Bangkok and other Project Coordinators under
the regional programme for technical exchange of strategies and
results
·
Support the
Regional Advisor/Programme Manager in developing and implementing
the regional/global components for the Programme
QUALIFICATIONS
·
A
post-graduate degree or extensive work experience in a relevant
discipline
·
At least
three years of experience on gender issues, and an interest and/or
experience in relation to women’s human rights and migration
issues.
·
Experience
working with the UN, governments, international organizations or
NGOs
·
Strong
communication and advocacy skills
·
Leadership
and management skills and ability to work as part of a team
·
Fluency in
written and spoken English
