National Council of Women - "Thai Women Light the Way"

Thai Women's NGOs will join hands to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Declaration of Human Rights. A march carrying the torch will start from the United Nations building and move to the house of the National Council of Women in Thailand. There will be theatre performances, speeches by prominent guests on the themes of violence against women and women's human rights. At the end of the event, candles will be lit to symbolize the solidarity of women towards a life free of violence.

The 2 coordinators, accompanied by Prof. Dr. Pornpen Petsuksiri of the National Institute of Development and Administration (NIDA) will attend a meeting titled The Development of Instruments to Implement an International Criminal Justice Strategy to Eliminate Violence Against Women. The meeting is organised by the International Center of Law Reform and Criminal Justice Policy in Vancouver, Canada.

The 2 coordinators and most of our networks will participate in a seminar on Law and Violence Against Women, held in Chiang Mai.
